NAME:

EnviroStain - Binder for Rollcoat/Glaze Adhesion

DESCRIPTION:

ELBRC is a binder in our EnviroStain system. All of the EnviroStain Binders are concentrates that are intended to be mixed with water prior to use. This binder is the primary resin for rollcoat applications as well as improving adhesion in glazes.

ELBRC has a fast dry time and is added to ELBDG to improve adhesion of glazes or patina finishes. ELBRC is also used in industrial rollcoat applications where it is machine applied and brushed prior to finishing.

USES:

This product is designed for interior wood finishing applications such as cabinetry, tables, furniture and millwork. The finished stain (Binder + Water + Tints/Dyes) is intended to be rollcoated and brushed off.

SANDING:

Substrate should be sanded with 180 grit sandpaper prior to applying any stains. Finer grit sandpaper (240/280) can be used to minimize sanding scratches.

PRODUCT PREPARATION:

Start with 40% ELBRC Binder for Glaze Adhesion/Roll coat, add up to 20% ELTINT Micronized Pigment, add water to bring the total mix balance to 100%.

In glazes, use ELBRC from 1-10% of the total formulation to improve the adhesion of the glaze. The more ELBRC you add, the more difficult the glaze will be to remove.

TINTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Stain SystemMaximum Tint/Dye Loading
ELBRC Rollcoat20% Tint/5% Dye

Note that when using pigments and dyes together in the same colour the storage stability of the colour will be reduced depending on the concentrations used.

To ensure colour consistency, pigmented products must be mixed prior to use and should be under low agitation if being used in production for a prolonged period.
