NAME:

ENVIROCRYL 500 CRYSTAL CLEAR SEALER

DESCRIPTION:

ELSEAL500 sealer is an acrylic urethane high build water white clear sealer for use under Envirolak topcoats. The product provides excellent clarity and is easy to sand after 1 hour. It can be used 1K or can be catalyzed with CAT100-LV hardener (4-6hr pot life) for improved adhesion and chemical resistance making it suitable for use as a toner over old solvent-based finishes. Used in conjunction with Envirolak water-based topcoats will meet KCMA standards.

USES:

This product is designed for interior wood finishing applications such as cabinetry, furniture and millwork.

PRODUCT PREPARATION:

Reduction is not required on closed pore woods, Add 15% water for open pore woods like oak and walnut. Product should be at room temperature and mixed thoroughly prior to application.

SANDING:

Substrate should be sanded with 150-180 grit sandpaper prior to staining or applying sealer. Stains should be allowed to dry prior to application of seal coat. Sand sealer with 320-400 grit sandpaper or Superfine sponges.

DRYING TIMES:

Air dry:

(20°C/68°F)

Dry to Touch: 5-10 Minutes
Dry to Sand: 20-40 Minutes
Dry to Stack: 8 hours

Note: Gentle air movement (recirculator or fan) while parts are drying will reduce dry to sand times by 20-40%. Allow parts to flash off 2-3 minutes.

Conventional Oven:

(40-45°C/104-113°F)

Dry to Touch: 5-10 Minutes
Dry to Sand: 15-25 Minutes
Dry to Stack: 2-3 hours

Sun-Spot IR Cure:

Flash off: 5-10 Minutes
Cure: 10 Minutes @60-70°C
Cool Down: 5-10 Minutes

Product is dry to sand (or stack) after cooling

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Use stainless steel (304/316) equipment for all water based products. When switching between solvent and water based products in the same spray equipment we suggest the following:
  • From Solvent to Water: Wash with acetone, then wash with water.
  • From Water to Solvent: Wash with water, then wash with acetone.
Keep containers closed when not in use and wash all equipment well. Keep from freezing. These products are designed for industrial use only. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet prior to use.

SHELF LIFE:

12 months in unopened containers

STORAGE

Store in a tightly closed container at room temperature (18-25°C/64-75°F) and protect from direct sunlight and foreign material. Do not store at temperatures below 5°C/41°F.
